Union Glashütte was founded in 1996 as a subsidiary of Glashütte Original, and a revival of the Uhrenfabrik Union which was originally established by Johannes Dürrstein. The brand was acquired by Swatch Group AG in 2000.
Paul Pietsch
The Union Glashütte Noramis Paul Pietsch Special Edition was announced in 2022, and licensed through the brand’s partnership with the Paul Pietsch Classic to honor the German Formula 1 driver. According to a correspondence with a brand representative, the partnership was established in 2016.
The special edition was available in an anthracite or silver dial and as either a chronograph or three-hander, for a total of four versions. Dial details include a rivet and sheet metal design as a nod to early racing cars, with a red “12” in the style of vintage racing numbers.
