Zeon is a British subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based Herald Group. Established in 1979 as an importer of LED watches, Zeon initially specialized in bringing the first kids’ character watches to the UK. Featured characters from this era included Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T., James Bond, Rambo, and Mr. T. Zeon watches were a staple in Argos catalogs during the 1990s, alongside other brands like Casio, Citizen, Rotary, Seiko, and Timex.
Zeon was acquired by the Herald Group in 1994, and the following year began taking licenses to produce fashion and lifestyle watches.
Zeon and Nigel Mansell
Zeon’s pre-Herald Group portfolio included a variety of Nigel Mansell timepieces ranging from digital, ana digi, and quartz analog watches. According to digitial-watch.com, early examples date back as far as 1985. Some later models appeared in the Argos catalog from 1991 until 1995.
