Max Emilian Verstappen (born September 30, 1997) is a Belgian and Dutch Formula 1 driver and three-time World Champion. His parents are former Grand Prix driver Jos Verstappen and former go-kart racer Sophie Kumpen.
F1 Career
Verstappen became the youngest driver to compete in F1 at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix with Scuderia Toro Rosso, and made a sensational switch to parent team Red Bull Racing five rounds into the 2016 season to replace Daniil Kvyat. He immediately set another record on his Red Bull debut when he became the youngest driver to win an F1 race, a record previously held by Sebastian Vettel. Verstappen has raced for the Austrian team since, winning world titles in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Casio Edifice Sponsorship and Toro Rosso
The Dutch driver briefly represented the Casio Edifice line, which was the watch sponsor of Toro Rosso for the 2016 season. In general, no special edition driver watches were made during the Japanese brand’s time with Red Bull’s junior team.
TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer had replaced Casio as the watch sponsor of Red Bull Racing in 2016. Coinciding with Verstappen’s mid-season switch and resulting first Grand Prix win, the Dutch driver’s first watch was appropriately named the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Max Verstappen Youngest Grand Prix Winner Special Edition (ref. CAZ101B.FT8028).
Another notable model was the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Max Verstappen Special Edition (ref. CAZ2018), Verstappen’s first mechanical TAG Heuer model from 2019.
In addition to several further signature Formula 1 timepieces, TAG Heuer has also gifted Verstappen various custom Monaco models that commemorate his world titles.
