Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin SA was founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron, and is still based in Geneva, Switzerland. The founder’s son, Abraham Vacheron, became the head of the family business in 1785 before it was passed on to grandson Jacques-Barthélemy Vacheron in 1810.

François Constantin was brought on as an associate in 1819 in order to facilitate brand expansion overseas, with the company being renamed as Vacheron & Constantin. By 1940, a majority portion of the brand was acquired by Georges Ketterer, and renamed as Vacheron Constantin in 1970 by his son Jacques.

The brand has been owned by the Richemont Group since 1996.
