Cronel is a defunct sub-brand under Camy Watch Co. SA, which was founded in Genève in 1917. A brand history page on time2tell.com states that the Borea brand was renamed to Cronel in 1972.
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Cronel trademark was registered on March 24, 1970 and expired on November 4, 1992.
Marlboro World Championship Team
Cronel has produced a Marlboro World Championship Team edition watch at some point during the 1970s. Based on a ref. 424 diver, the dial features a Marlboro logo with the text “World Championship Team” underneath.
Some versions have a case back that uses the term “waterproof” instead of “water resistant”. This suggests the possibility that the model may have been produced across multiple years, although details are not well documented.

Marlboro Editions
Other Marlboro edition Cronel models also exist, without any “World Championship Team” branding. One particular example (ref. 401) features both a Marlboro logo and Cornel branding on a blue dial.
