CVSTOS is a Meyrin-based Swiss watch manufacturer founded by Sassoun Sirmakes and Antonio Terranova in 2005. The brand name “Custos” is Latin for “guardian”. If the names of the two founders don’t immediately ring a bell, their pedigree certainly will. Sirmakes is the son of Vartan Sirmakes, co-owner of the Franck Muller Watchland Group, and Terranova has previously worked as a designer at TAG Heuer and has freelanced for brands like Zenith, Brietling, and Ebel.
Dani Pedrosa
CVSTOS started a partnership with MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa in 2013, and in the same year released the Challenge Pedrosa Limited Edition in Orange Ergal or Grey Titanium. Both were limited to just 26 pieces each, and runs on a CVSTOS 577 Automatic chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
The Challenge Chrono II Pedrosa Carbon was released in 2016 with a run of 100 pieces, featuring a case construction made of forged carbon and orange fiberglass mix with a titanium chassis and also powered by a CVSTOS 577 Automatic chronograph movement with a slightly increased 48-hour power reserve.
Loris Baz
CVSTOS announcing Loris Baz as a brand ambassador in 2016. The CVSTOS Challenge Chrono II LB 76 Limited Edition was announced on August 30th of the same year, with a limited run of 76 pieces in honor of the French pilot’s MotoGP racing number.
Inspired by Formula 1 Sprint Qualifying Races
Two versions of the Cvstos Challenge Chrono Sprint limited edition were announced in 2022 to celebrate the introduction of the Sprint Qualifying Race in Formula 1. Similar to other models from the Racing Collection, the dial was inspired by the front wing of a Formula 1 car. No official licensing appears to be involved.
