Loris Baz (born February 1, 1993) is a French motorcycle racer who competed in the MotoGP class from 2015 until 2017.
Forward Racing
Baz entered his first MotoGP season as a World Superbike race winner, signing with the Open class Yamaha-powered Forward Racing team in 2015, and achieved a season and career-best finish of fourth at the San Marino and Rimini Riviera motorcycle Grand Prix at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. This would be the last season for Open class MotoGP machinery.
Avintia Ducati
Baz moved to Avintia Racing in 2016, racing a MotoGP-spec Ducati Desmosedici. He tied his career-best result with another fourth place finish at that season’s Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix. Baz remained with the team for the 2017 season, and made a return to World Superbike the following year.
KTM
While competing in World Superbike in 2018, the French rider was called on to replace the injured Pol Espargaró at Red Bull KTM Factory Racing at the British motorcycle Grand Prix. However, the race was ultimately cancelled due to rain.
CVSTOS
Baz was announced as an ambassador for CVSTOS in May of 2016, making him the second MotoGP representative of the brand after Dani Pedrosa. As a result of the partnership, the Challenge Chrono II LB 76 Limited Edition was announced on August 30 of that year. The timepiece had a limited run of 76 pieces, after the French rider’s racing number.
