Sector No Limits is an Italian watch brand that was founded in 1973 by Filippo Giardiello. By the late 1980s, the brand was distributed by the Artime Group, which would also go on to launch the Chronostar brand. Renamed as the Sector Group on January 1, 2000, the company would also acquire Invicta.
Morellato Group
Sector has been owned by the Morellato Group since 2006, along with Chronostar which now operates as a separate brand.
Aprilia MotoGP
Sector was a sponsor of the Aprilia MotoGP team from 2002 to 2003. While details are not well-documented, there appears to have been at least two Aprilia Racing edition watches released by the Italian brand during that time.
Jorge Lorenzo
Three-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo was announced as an ambassador of Sector No Limits in 2013. Lorenzo’s early appearances for the brand included the humorous “big seducer” ad. A fan meet and greet event was also held on April 10 of that year at the Sector Store in Milan, Italy. A fairly extensive Jorge Lorenzo Collection was also developed to commemorate the partnership, with the Sector No Limits Racing S-99 Jorge Lorenzo (ref. R3271677001) being one specific example.
Sector No Limits announced the end of their relationship with Lorenzo in 2015, stating that the brand “does not identify with the events that have occurred in recent weeks in the context of the MotoGP world championship”. The statement was made in reference to Valentino Rossi‘s upheld grid penalty at the season finale, which stemmed from his earlier clash with Marc Marquez. The timing also coincided with the end of the existing three-year contract.
Franco Morbidelli
Sector No Limits announced a return to MotoGP in February 2021 with Franco Morbidelli as their global brand ambassador. Later in the same year, the ADV 2500 Franco Morbidelli Limited Edition (ref. R3271643003) was unveiled. The second hand is in the Italian rider’s signature green color, with his autograph featuring on the case back. The chronograph was also shipped with a “21 Morbidelli” bandana.
