Jacques Lens

Jacques Lens Paris was a short-lived brand based in Paris. According to societe.com records, The Jacques Lens name was registered on January 1, 1979 and expired on April 30, 1986.

Sparse records found within issues of Europa Star from 1982 to 1985 indicate that the brand was active at various industry trade shows during that timeframe.

Goodyear and the Paul Ricard Automobile Circuit

Issue #135 of Europa Star Europe from 1982 shows a photo of Formula 1 drivers Patrick Tambay and Didier Pironi being presented with Jacques Lens “Grand Prix” models, along with three unidentified pieces by the brand.

On the same page, some sort of affiliation with Goodyear and the Paul Ricard Automobile Circuit was mentioned:

To crown this classic and original line of exclusive watches, Jacques Lens tied in with Goodyear and the Paul Ricard Automobile Circuit to introduce a new line of sports watches last July 23 at the Paul-Ricard Circuit. In the framework of the firm’s development, Jacques Lens also plans to sponsor an automobile sports contest.

The wording does not appear to provide sufficient clarity on whether or not Goodyear or circuit editions were produced. A single photo of what appears to be the same event can be found on Getty Images, but no additional context is provided.

No further relevant information can currently be found.
