The eponymous André Le Marquand brand was founded in 1978 in Bulle, Switzerland. with his wife Monique. Le Marquand was well known for designing the “spaceman” watch, as well as the Sidewatch collection.
As of 2005, the brand was renamed and relaunched as Le Marquand and run by the founders’ son, Cédric.
Jo Siffert
According to the March 1997 issue of Europa Star, André Le Marquand was a sponsor of Philippe Siffert, son of Jo Siffert. Around this time, the brand created a limited edition to commemorate the older Siffert.

For this occasion, André Le Marquand will issue a limited edition watch -250 pieces- commemorating the life of the elder Siffert, world renown race car driver who died on the track of Brand Hatch 25 years ago. “I can count on the moral and financial support of my sponsors André Le Marquand who has always stood by me and encouraged me to always work against all odds,” said Siffert. While sponsoring car racing is nothing new in the watch industry, helping to celebrate the heritage of a very special family is. And André Le Marquand is truly unique in this mission.
The steel sports watch features a black dial with a red “F1” above the brand logo, “JO SIFFERT” in red above the 6 o’clock date window, “25e Mémorial Jo Siffert 1971-1996 Série limitée” on the case back, and limited to 250 pieces.
