Toyota competed in Formula 1 from 2002 until 2009. The Toyota name has returned to the Grand Prix grid in 2025 through a technical partnership with the Haas F1 Team, which became a title partnership for the 2026 season.

Sometime during this time frame, an unbranded Toyota F1 chronograph was released. Based on the Seiko ref. SNJ003P1, the case back featured the engraved signatures of Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli, 

Not included in the timeline are a number of unbranded Panasonic Toyota Racing models. According to various online listings, these were released as sponsor gifts or promotional merchandise for the team.
