British American Racing, commonly known as BAR, was a Formula 1 team and constructor that operated from 1999 to 2005. They acquired Tyrrell and raced with Supertec engines during their first season before partnering with Honda as the Lucky Strike BAR Honda team for the remainder of the team’s existence. The outfit became the Honda Racing F1 Team in 2006, after the Japanese manufacturer bought the remaining shares to become the sole owner.
