Viceroy is a Spanish fashion brand that was founded in Switzerland in 1951, and currently specializes in watches and jewellery. The brand was acquired by Grupo Munreco, which also owns other watch brands such as Mark Maddox and Sandoz.
Fernando Alonso
As a brand that is proudly Spanish, Viceroy has an extensive portfolio including Madrid and Barcelona football clubs and as well as celebrity endorsements including Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, and Antonio Banderas.
Included on the list is also Fernando Alonso, with whom Viceroy has created quite a large catalog of driver edition watches. A logo consisting of Alonso’s initials and a checkered flag detail appeared on dials in the collection. One example is a Fernando Alonso chronograph that came with different colored accents, including blue (ref. 47823-37), white (ref. 47823-57), red (ref. 47823-77), and rose gold (ref. 47823-97).
While details are currently sparse, Alonso’s association with the Spanish brand appears to have spanned from 2008 to 2014.
