Formula 1 Career

With the exception of the Indianapolis 500, 1960 was von Trip’s first full Formula 1 season. He scored points on five occasions and finished the season in seventh overall.  Von Trips scored his two Formula 1 victories in 1961, but was killed in the Italian Grand Prix after a collision with Jim Clar

k. The German driver posthumously finished the season runner-up in the championship after the title was won by his Ferrari teammate Phil Hill.
