Mark Webber

Mark Alan Webber AO (born August 27, 1976) is an Australian former racing driver who competed in Formula 1 from 2002 to 2013. He made his F1 testing debut with Arrows in December of 1999, followed by a test with Benetton in 2000. Webber signed as a test and reserve driver for Benetton in 2001, and helped develop the B201 for full time drivers Jenson Button and Giancarlo Fisichella.

Minardi

Webber’s F1 race debut was with Minardi at the 2002 Australian Grand Prix, replacing Fernando Alonso who had left the team to sign with Renault as a test driver. His fifth place finish in his first Formula 1 race remained his best result of the season.

Jaguar

The Australian driver signed with Jaguar for the 2003 and 2004 seasons with mixed results. He scored points on 11 occasions across his two seasons with the British team.

Williams

Webber was signed by Williams for 2005, and scored his first F1 podium that season with a third place finish at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Australian stayed with Williams for 2006, with then-rookie Nico Rosberg as his teammate.

Red Bull Racing

Red Bull Racing had purchased Webber’s former team Jaguar in late 2004, and signed the Australian after his exit from Williams. Webber drove alongside David Coulthard in 2007 and 2008, his first two seasons with the Austrian team.

Webber’s first Formula 1 win came in 2009 in a revitalized RB5 after that season’s regulation changes. While he finished the season with two wins and six additional podiums, he was outperformed by Sebastian Vettel in the German’s first season with the team. Both were beaten to the title by Webber’s former stablemate Jenson Button and Brawn GP.

Webber remained with Red Bull Racing until his retirement from F1 at the end of 2013, taking all nine of his Grand Prix victories with the team.

Oris

Oris had a long term partnership with Williams Racing from 2003 to 2018, and released the Mark Webber Limited Edition Chronograph (ref. 675.7579.70.55.RS) in 2005. The exclusive piece had a production run of 1,000 pieces, with Webber’s logo featuring on the case back.

Chopard

While not a Formula 1-specific piece, the Chopard Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Mark Webber is worth a mention. The one-off timeepice was created for Only Watch 2015, while Webber was racing in Le Mans.

Association with Rolex

Webber joined the Rolex family as a Testimonee in 2017.
