Monwatch

Monwatch was an Italian watch brand that was founded in 1999 by Marco Mauri. The company was named after the combination of French and English words for “My Watch”.

The Monwatch website appears to have been taken down sometime after 2019. The Monwatch trademark also appears to have a 404 status in the U.S.

Super Sic 58

Monwatch has worked with the late Marco Simoncelli on the Super Sic 58. According to Mauri, he had met Simoncelli shortly before the 2011 Malaysian motorcycle Grand Prix. The Monwatch founder gifted Simoncelli a watch along with verbal interest in developing a timepiece together.

The idea initially stalled due to Simoncelli’s untimely death, but his father Paolo Simoncelli encouraged the project to move forward. The result was two limited edition Super Sic 58 models, named after Simoncelli’s nickname and racing number, with the dial designed by his girlfriend Kate Fretti.
