Eberhard & Co. was founded in 1887 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Neuchâtel, Switzerland by Georges Eberhard. Having gotten an early start by his father and backed by a family heritage of watchmaking dating back to the 10th century, Eberhard was just 22 years of age when he founded the company.
Chrono 4
One noteworthy model was the Chrono 4, which was launched in 2001 and became the world’s first chronograph with its counters arranged in a single row. The breakthrough design was innovated by Palmiro Monti, the brand’s CEO at the time.
Tazio Nuvolari
Eberhard & Co. began sponsoring the Nuvolari Grand Prix sometime in the 1990s, and had launched the ‘Tazio Nuvolari’ collection around 1987. A large number of Tazio Nuvolari models have been released in honor of the Italian pre-Formula 1 Grand Prix driver.
Loris Capirossi
Unveiled at Baselworld 2008, the Eberhard & Co. Chrono 4 Grande Taille “Capirex” edition was created in honor of nine-time 500cc/MotoGP race winner Loris Capirossi. The limited edition was available in a rose gold or steel case, the latter with different dial options: Black subdials on a black dial, and white subdials on a black or white dial. All three had a limited production run of 65 piece each.
