Catamaran was launched in 1983 by historic Swiss watch brand Consul, which was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1900. The Catamaran brand featured a nautical theme, and focused sponsorship activities on sailing in the 1980s. The brand began expanding into the world of motorsport in 1994, sponsoring several racing series including Formula 1.
The Catamaran brand appears to have ceased operations around 2011. The final archived instance of their website included an announcement that the company would be closing temporarily for their annual summer break.
Pacific Grand Prix
Catamaran was a sponsor of the Pacific Grand Prix Formula 1 team in 1994, as well as in 1995 after the UK-based team rebranded as Pacific Team Lotus. The brand logo has featured on both the PR01 and PR02.

The partnership appears to have inspired two watches during this time: The Catamaran Pacific that was launched in 1995, and the Catamaran Pacific F1 Carbon from 1996.
Shared Livery with Franck Muller
When Jean-Denis Delétraz entered two rounds with Pacific Team Lotus in 1995, the Franck Muller logo also appeared on the PR02 along with Catamaran branding.
