Bulgari is an Italian luxury fashion house that was founded in 1884 by Greek silversmith and businessman Sotirios Voulgaris. The brand logo is stylized as BVLGARI.
In its early decades, Bulgari had a primary focus on jewelry. While some watches were made earlier, such as the first Serpenti bracelet-watches, the Italian brand did not make a serious entry into the watch industry until 1977. A Swiss subsidiary was founded in 1980 to oversee the production of Bulgari watches, and is headquartered in Neuchâtel.
Bulgari was acquired by LVMH in 2011. Since then, the brand has notably been involved in making some of the world’s thinnest watches in their Octo Finissimo line.
Collaboration with Ducati
The Bulgari Aluminium Chronograph Ducati Special Edition was announced in 2022. It features a racing-inspired red dial with the Ducati emblem on the case back, and is otherwise identical to the classic Aluminum Chronograph. It was released with a limited run of 1,000 pieces.
Two-time MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia was a special guest at the launch event in Milan, and was presented one of the exclusive timepieces. Despite Pecco’s involvement, the chronograph does not appear to have a direct Ducati Corse tie-in.
