Armin Strom AG was founded in 2006 by master watchmaker Armin Strom and his son and former Omega director Daniel Strom. The elder Strom’s watchmaking career began much earlier in 1967 when he first opened a workshop in Burgdorf, Switzerland. Strom specialized in skeleton watches, which he first exhibited in the 1980s. By 2001, the father and son team of Armin and Daniel created Strom & Strom GmbH which eventually became known as Armin Strom.
Virgin Racing and Marussia F1
Armin Strom was announced as the Official Timing Partner of the Marussia Virgin Racing Team in March of 2011. The press release included three models: the Armin Racing One Week with the ARM09 Manufacture movement (limited to 40 pieces), Armin Racing Regulator with the ASRO7 movement (limited to 100 pieces) and the Armin Racing Chronograph with automatic winding (limited to 400 pieces).
The brand remained with the team after they were renamed the Marussia F1 Team in 2012. To further underscore their connection with Formula 1, the Armin Strom Racing Gravity line features bridges and plates made from the engine block of an F1 car. The partnership continued until the end of 2014.

Timo Glock
Marussia F1 driver Timo Glock had visited the Armin Strom factory prior to the 2012 Formula 1 season. He returned shortly to assemble his own personal Armin Racing Regulator, which he wore for the 2012 season.
The announcement also included plans to auction the watch at the end of the season, although information on such an auction cannot currently be found.
Max Chilton
Max Chilton became an ambassador for the Swiss watch brand while driving for Marussia, and remained an ambassador after his move to IndyCar to see the release of the extremely limited Max Chilton Edition Edge Double Barrel. The release appears to be IndyCar-specific due to the dial color.
