Quarto Di Miglio was an Italian watch brand based in Como that was a collaboration between Marco Colombo and Alessandro and Matteo Cavadini, with known involvement by Jacques Smits. Company details don’t appear to be well documented, although one early mention of the brand was from a 2010 news post on the FIM Superbike World Championship website. The earliest archived instances of the Quarto Di Miglio website was also from the same year. The brand name has also been stylized as QuartoDiMiglio, such as on the company’s Facebook page.
The website appears to have been shut down sometime after late 2014.
Superbike World Championship
The Superbike chronograph, a collaboration with Infront Motor Sports, was announced on the Superbike World Championship website in late 2010. The dial featured 12 screen-printed flags to represent the 12 countries on the World Superbike calendar during that time. In addition to retail jewellers, the chronograph was also available for purchase on the World Superbike official store.
An updated Superbike EVO model was also announced in April of 2011. Additional SBK-branded models later followed that exclusively featured specific flags including Italy, San Marino, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Circuit Park Zandvoort
A Circuit Park Zandvoort limited edition was announced in late 2010 via a contest on Autosport.nl. The dial features a track layout of Zandvoort and a Dutch flag, with the text “Tarzanbocht” highlighting the famous corner.
The track has since been renamed Circuit Zandvoort in 2017, and has hosted the Dutch Grand Prix on and off from 1950 until 1985 before reappearing on the Formula 1 calendar in a six-year deal that began in 2021.
Troy Bayliss
Quarto Di Miglio unveiled photos of several chronographs dedicated to three-time World Superbike champion and MotoGP race winner Troy Bayliss in May of 2011. By November of the same year, the Troy Bayliss and Troy Bayliss EVO models were made available on the company website.
Available images show a large “21” on the dial, indicating that this was a World Superbike-specific release for Bayliss. The popular Australian rider ran the number 12 during his time in MotoGP, due to 21 already taken by John Hopkins.
TT Assen
The TT Assen model was announced in April of 2011, commemorating the TT Circuit Assen which has hosted both World Superbike and MotoGP. Similar to the Zandvoort, the Assen chronograph’s dial prominently features the track layout, the dutch flag, and text-based references including “Assen”, “Saturday Only”, “Strubben Curve”, and a large “TT”. Color options of black, red, and blue were available.
Models named after Imola and Zolder were also on Quarto Di Miglio’s online store by 2013.
Kenny Roberts?
In September of 2012, the Quarto Di Miglio Facebook page posted a series of images that included photos of three-time 500cc world champion Kenny Roberts as well as two versions of an unnamed watch with a yellow and white dial that appeared to be inspired by Yamaha‘s racing livery of the same colors. No details were provided beyond the images. A red and black version of what appears to be the same model was also photographed.
An archived snapshot of the company website from 2013 also shows a model named Kenny. However, product images have not been preserved in the archived page, making it impossible to determine if they are the same watch.
